Wanna be blown away by Bodega Bay?  Spring is at our doorstep and it’s the time of year we locals in Bodega Bay, like to say with a chuckle that our little town turns into “Blowdega Bay.”

This is why the Sonoma Coast is kicking off it’s first annual “Kite Month!”  Bring your kids or rekindle with your inner child and take advantage of a month of kite activities, specials and the opportunity to play with fellow kite enthusiasts.  We invite you from near and far to join in this windy fun in the sun.  

This April, it’ll be a breeze to partake in kite activities.  Not only does Bodega Bay have the wind scheduled for the occasion, but we have two stores almost completely dedicated to kites.  Check out Candy & Kites for intricate and whimsical kites and Second Wind for a whole second opportunity to pick out just the right kite for you, as well as a really fun selection of vintage candy.  

We’ve got small kites, huge kites, animal themed kites and even fun spinning yard art.

Wind will the kite theme stop?  Not just at family-based fun.  As many outdoor adventurists know, playing with kites can also be both physically challenging as well as exhilarating.  If you want your spirit lifted to the height of a kite, come try out kite-boarding or wind-surfing!  If this get’s wind in your sails, come into the Bodega Bay Surf Shack for training kites, or even schedule kite-boarding lessons in the harbor where the water is calm, but the wind isn’t!
